- Obstetrics nurses assist doctors in taking care of pregnant women and in delivery of babies.
- They often work in labor and delivery department in medical institutions. They may also work as part of a team of caregivers.
- Their main duties include prepping delivery rooms, prepping patients, caring for newborns, and explaining after-birth care to new parents.
- May consider training in NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) and ALSO (Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics).
