Geriatric RNs help with elderly patients, as the name suggests.
They may have to deal more frequently with injuries and diseases like osteoporosis, Alzheimer’s, and cancer.
They primarily focus on preventative care, and help patients and families cope with certain medication conditions. They also help patients with routine checkups, rehabilitations after injury, and pain management. Also possibly bathing and bedsore prevention.
They work in a variety of places, like hospitals, patient homes, and nursing homes.
