Cath Lab nurses work with doctors diagnosing heart disease patients. Their duties include administering interval procedures to patients, assisting implementations of pace makers and defibrillators, as well as general nursing duties (note management, medical records management, administering medication)
May have to perform CPR and defibrillation.
One of the most requested and in-demand specialties. Generally higher pay. Must have extra training and take the Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification test (RN-BC) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
